Online Donations
We appreciate a donation of any type or size. The Italian Greyhound Rescue is a small organization and the competition to get donations is fierce given the total number of charities nationally. So, we try to make it as easy as possible to support the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation, by providing a variety of opportunities to give, either cash or non-monetary based on your own personal preferences. Although, the easiest way to donate is online, did you realize that anywhere between 2-10% of any online donations are never seen by any charity? Why? Because they are eaten up by processing charges, fees, etc. So, if you are considering a donation the best way to give is to donate directly to your local Italian Greyhound Rescue affiliate in cash, or by check so your donation can be utilized to the fullest.
However, if you prefer to donate online for simplicity, here are the ways you can contribute to the Italian Greyhound Rescue in order of our preferred platforms to ensure the most money benefits the IGRF:
PayPal
An easy way to donate, and historically subtracts one of the lowest fees from your online donation.
Note: PayPal charges non-profits 2.9% plus 30 cents per donation (January 2021).
Mightycause
Formerly Razoo, you have the option to donate with the fees subtracted from your donation, or you can opt to cover the fees yourself to ensure IGRF gets the maximum benefit. Donate via Mightycause.
Note: Mightycause charges a 6.9% transaction fee per donation plus 30 cents per donation (January 2021). However, on "giving days" you should see if these fees are waived or if matching funds will cause your donation to be greater than the fees charged.
Petfinder Sponsor-A-Pet
If you prefer to donate toward the card for a specific dog in rescue, the Petfinder Sponsor-A-Pet feature is what you are looking for! To donate via Petfinder's Sponsor-A-Pet program, go to http://www.petfinder.com/, and search for adoptable pets being cared for by your local Italian Greyhound Rescue affiliate.
Note: Petfinder maintains a 10% fee for operating expenses of any online donations (January 2021), ONLY IF the local group has registered to receive the donations. Otherwise, the Petfinder Foundation will receive all money donated.
Want to Double Your Donation?
Many employers offer charitable matching programs as a benefit to their employees, and these programs are some of the most overlooked benefits offered today. Often upon providing documentation, employers will match 100% or a portion of any donation to the Italian Greyhound Rescue. Be sure to print your online donation receipt from PayPal as proof of your online donation to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation, or any one of our local affiliates, to provide with any other required documentation needed for any workplace matching programs.
