Credit Card Points and Flyer Miles Donations
Credit cards love to send special offers to members, especially when it comes to charitable donations. Listed below are a few that we know about, but there are many more programs frequently offered, so check with your credit card provider on other ways to make contributions.
"Discover Giving" Program
Discover card holders can give donations out of their Cashback Bonus reward via their "Discover Giving" program, or in other ways using their card, and can earn points for charity donations even.
American Express "Members Give" Program
Any American Express card holder can donate to over 1 million organizations, including the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation, via the "Members Give" Program. Donations can be made using credit, rewards points, reoccurring donations, or even given as charity certificates to others.
Frequent Flyer Points
Although a couple of airlines do offer pet reward programs, currently there are not any that allow pet flight costs to be paid for using frequent flyer miles. If any airlines begin to offer this as a perk, please let us know! Some airlines do allow you to convert your frequent flyer miles to charitable donations, so check with your credit card provider to see if this is offered. Airlines offering specific frequent flyer programs for pets include JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic. Southwest Airlines has been known to be pet friendly also.
