North Dakota Italian Greyhound Rescue was established in May of 2010 when the need for rescue in the Fargo, ND area continued to increase at an insurmountable rate. Prior to this date, the area was covered on a limited basis by the Nebraska Italian Greyhound Rescue, more than 400 miles South.

Very shortly after its inception, MN and ND combined efforts, and MN/ND IGCA Rescue was established. We have foster homes throughout ND, and have adopted dogs into ND, MN, MT, SD, IA and Canada, as well as many other states with collaboration between the Rescue Representatives of those states.

All Italian Greyhounds in MN/ND IGCA Rescue are housed in foster homes that devote their time, dedication, rehabilitation and love to their foster dog(s) until the right home comes along. The majority of foster homes are located in the Minneapolis, MN area.

Dozens of dogs are adopted to magnificent people every year that have become part of our ever-growing rescue family. MN/ND IGCA Rescue hosts playdates in Woodbury and Moorhead, MN where the iggies get a chance to romp and play while their owners get to visit with others with the same passion.

MN/ND IGCA Rescue offers assistance to any IG owner at any time, where the ultimate goal is to help a loved IG stay with their family if at all possible. The Italian Greyhounds received in rescue come from a variety of circumstances, from owner surrenders to turnovers from other rescue groups and shelters that feel a breed specific IG rescue is the best place for this unique breed with many unique characteristics and needs.
